Privacy Policy
Overview
Cecilio Books LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website (ceciliobooks.com) or contact us about bookkeeping services, how we use it, and the choices you have. We serve small businesses in the United States, and this policy is written for US privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Information we collect
We collect these categories of personal information:
- Identifiers. When you use a form on this site — the quote request, the contact form, or the partners form — we receive your email address and anything you choose to enter, such as your name and company.
- Your inquiry. The message and business details you choose to share so we can help — commercial information.
- Internet and device activity. With each submission, and as you browse, we receive technical and usage information about your device and visit — to read your request in context and to guard against spam and abuse. We measure site usage only in aggregate (see “Cookies” and “Analytics” below).
We do not collect payment information or financial documents through this site.
How we use your information
We use what you send us to:
- Reply to your inquiry, usually within 24 hours.
- Prepare your quote and continue the conversation you started.
- Keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters.
Our secure quote system
This website stores nothing itself. When you submit a form, your details and the technical signals above are sent to our own secure quote system (secure.ceciliobooks.com), where Debora prepares your quote by hand. That system has its own privacy policy.
Service providers
We use these providers to run this site. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, and edge delivery (privacy policy).
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate website analytics, measured first-party and server-side (see “Analytics” below) (privacy policy · how Google uses this data).
- Google Ads — advertising and its measurement (privacy policy).
- Meta — advertising and its measurement (privacy policy).
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies to measure the site and support advertising. Our own server sets these under ceciliobooks.com:
| Cookie | Purpose | Type and duration |
|---|---|---|
| _cb_cid | Counts a returning visit as one visitor, not two (our analytics visitor ID) | First-party · up to 2 years |
| _fbp | Meta advertising measurement — identifies this browser | First-party · up to 2 years |
| _fbc | Meta advertising measurement — records the ad click that brought you here | First-party · up to 2 years |
When the advertising layer is on — it is on by default (see “Advertising” and “Your choices”) — Google and Meta also set their own advertising cookies from their domains. The pricing calculator stores the figures you enter in your own browser (session storage) so the page can show your estimate; that stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Analytics
We measure how visitors use this site so we can improve it. This analytics is first-party and aggregate: it tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and which language they use — not who you are. Google Analytics 4 is processed server-side under our own domain (ceciliobooks.com): a small first-party script sends the measurement to our own server, which forwards it to Google — not a Google script running in your browser. (This measurement previously ran through Cloudflare Zaraz, now retired.) We do not build a profile of you, and we never send your email address or any message you write to an analytics service.
Advertising
We advertise this service through Google Ads and Meta. These platforms set cookies and receive some of your device and usage information so we can show relevant ads and measure them — which US privacy law treats as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. This sharing is active and on by default. When you submit a form, the identifiers you enter — your email, name, phone and business state, and, for clients, city and postal code — may also be shared with Google Ads and Meta in hashed form, to measure and match these conversions, under the same opt-out and GPC choices below. We do not sell your personal information. You can opt out of this sharing at any time — see “Your choices.”
Your choices
- Your Privacy Choices. Every page’s footer carries a “Your Privacy Choices” control. Use it to opt out of advertising measurement and sharing; your choice is remembered on this browser.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an automatic, total opt-out: in your browser, before any measurement or advertising request leaves it, we turn analytics and advertising off — so no analytics is collected and we do not share your information for advertising. Our support for this signal is published at /.well-known/gpc.json.
- Your browser’s cookie controls. Blocking or clearing this site’s cookies stops the cookies above.
- By email. To opt out of sharing, or to make any request below, email debora@ceciliobooks.com.
Data retention
We keep the information you share with us for as long as our business relationship is active, and for a reasonable period after to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You may request deletion at any time.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Opt out of sharing your information for advertising.
We offer these choices to every visitor, and we will not treat you differently for using them. To make a request, email debora@ceciliobooks.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
