Overview
Cecilio Books LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website (ceciliobooks.com) or contact us about bookkeeping services, how we use it, and the choices you have. We serve small businesses in the United States, and this policy is written for US privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Information we collect
We collect these categories of personal information:
- Identifiers. When you use a form on this site (the quote request, the contact form, the booking form, or the partners form), we receive your email address and anything you choose to enter, such as your name and company. In the booking form, you can also give the email addresses of people you invite to a Google Meet call: we store them with your booking, email each guest the invite and any change or cancellation of the call, never send them to Google Ads, Meta, or any analytics service, and delete them with your booking when you ask us to delete your information.
- Your inquiry. The message and business details you choose to share so we can help, commercial information.
- Internet and device activity. With each submission, and as you browse, we receive technical and usage information about your device and visit, to read your request in context and to guard against spam and abuse. We measure site usage only in aggregate (see “Cookies” and “Analytics” below).
We do not collect payment information or financial documents through this site.
How we use your information
We use what you send us to:
- Reply to your inquiry, usually within 24 hours.
- Prepare your quote and continue the conversation you started.
- Keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters.
Our secure quote system
This website has no database of its own; the cookies and browser storage described under “Cookies” are kept in your browser. When you submit a form, your details and the technical signals above are sent to our own secure quote system (secure.ceciliobooks.com), where Debora prepares your quote by hand. That system has its own privacy policy.
Service providers
We use these providers to run this site. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare: hosting, DNS, and edge delivery (privacy policy).
- Google Analytics 4: aggregate website analytics, measured first-party and server-side (see “Analytics” below) (privacy policy · how Google uses this data).
- Google Ads: advertising and its measurement (privacy policy).
- Meta: advertising and its measurement (privacy policy).
- Google Calendar and Google Meet: to hold the call you book on our calendar and to run the video call. Google receives the name, email, phone number, note, and guest emails you give in the booking form (privacy policy).
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies to measure the site and support advertising. This site’s scripts set them in your browser, under ceciliobooks.com. When the site sends an analytics measurement, our own server renews three of them, if your browser has them (_cb_cid, cb_click_ids, and cb_internal):

The advertising layer is on by default (see “Advertising” and “Your choices”); when it is on, Google and Meta also set their own advertising cookies from their domains. This site also keeps four items in your browser’s storage. If you opt out with “Your Privacy Choices”, that choice (cb_ad_optout) is kept in local storage on this browser. When a link with campaign tags brings you here, those tags (cb_landing_utms) are kept in session storage until you close the tab; they hold no ad-click ID. The pricing calculator keeps its figures in session storage (cbooks:calculator-snapshot) from the time the pricing page opens, so the page can show your estimate. If you then send the quote request in the same tab, these figures go with it; the other forms do not send them. When you change the calculator, the monthly estimate it shows is sent to our analytics, unless your browser sends a GPC signal (see “Your choices”). The booking form keeps what you type in it (name, email, phone number, note) and your Google Meet or phone call choice in session storage (cbooks:booker-draft), so a reload does not erase them; they are removed when your booking is confirmed or when you close the tab.
Analytics
We measure how visitors use this site so we can improve it. This analytics is first-party and aggregate: it tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and which language they use, not who you are. Google Analytics 4 is processed server-side under our own domain (ceciliobooks.com): a small first-party script sends the measurement to our own server, which forwards it to Google, not a Google script running in your browser. (This measurement previously ran through Cloudflare Zaraz, now retired.) We do not build a profile of you, and we never send your email address or any message you write to an analytics service.
Advertising
We advertise this service through Google Ads and Meta. These platforms set cookies and receive some of your device and usage information so we can show relevant ads and measure them, which US privacy law treats as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. This sharing is active and on by default. When you submit a form, the identifiers you enter (your email, name, phone and business state, and, for clients, city and postal code) may also be shared with Google Ads and Meta in hashed form, to measure and match these conversions and to build advertising audiences of people like you, under the same opt-out and GPC choices below. A click on a contact link (phone, email, or WhatsApp) is recorded with the same device and connection information as a form submission, kept for 90 days, and shared with Google Ads and Meta as a contact event under the same “Your Privacy Choices” and GPC controls below; a message sent through the contact form is measured as a lead the same way. We do not sell your personal information. You can opt out of this sharing at any time (see “Your choices”).
Your choices
- Your Privacy Choices. Every page’s footer carries a “Your Privacy Choices” control with the opt-out icon. It opens a panel where you can opt out of advertising measurement and sharing; your choice is remembered on this browser. Our analytics continues after this choice; only GPC (below) stops it.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an automatic, total opt-out of analytics and advertising: our script in your browser sends no analytics measurement and loads no advertising code from Google or Meta, and we do not share your information for advertising. Some requests still leave your browser. Each page loads our script from our own server; like any web request, it carries your IP address, basic browser details, and any cookies this site set before, but no measurement. When you use a contact link or copy button, or send a form, we still receive the device and visit information described under “Information we collect”. We also receive your IP address, your internet provider, and an approximate location based on your IP address (city, region, postal code, map coordinates, and time zone). The site adds no advertising ID and no analytics visitor ID to these requests; page addresses are sent as they are, with any tags in them. Our support for this signal is published at /.well-known/gpc.json.
- Your browser’s cookie controls. This site’s cookies follow your choices. After an advertising opt-out, the site removes cb_click_ids, _fbp, and _fbc at once and does not set them again; _cb_cid and _cb_ses stay and are renewed, because analytics continues. Under GPC, the site removes the same three cookies and does not set or renew _cb_cid and _cb_ses; if they were set before, they stay until they expire or you clear them. The cb_internal cookie is set only when a page opens from the firm’s internal marker link, meant for the firm’s own devices, under any choice; like _cb_cid, it is renewed after an advertising opt-out but not under GPC. Clearing this site’s cookies deletes all of them; the site sets them again on your next visit, as your choices allow. Blocking them stops the site from setting them. Google and Meta cookies on their own domains are outside our reach.

Data retention
We keep the information you share with us for as long as our business relationship is active, and for a reasonable period after to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You may request deletion at any time.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Opt out of sharing your information for advertising.
We offer these choices to every visitor, and we will not treat you differently for using them. To make a request, email debora@ceciliobooks.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
